How we choose
We are building a small library of recommendations, not a large product catalogue. Every published pick must have a distinct reason to buy.
Start with the child
Age, current capability, interests and home context matter more than trendiness or a long feature list.
Give every pick a job
A product earns a place only when it answers a real shopping need better than the alternatives in that shortlist.
Name the trade-off
Price, size, supervision, longevity and complexity all matter. Useful recommendations make those limits visible.
Verify before publishing
Links, availability and product details are checked before a page becomes indexable, then reviewed on a dated cycle.
What happens before a guide is published
Product research, merchant details, recommendation awards and editorial rationale live outside the application. A page becomes indexable only after it has unique guidance, a differentiated shortlist and current verification dates.
Commercial performance can inform later reviews, but it never automatically overrules an explicit editorial decision.
